TAO/USD from CoinGecko, falling back to Binance, at the latest snapshot.
Minted TAO × price. Fully diluted counts all 21M TAO that will ever exist.
τ0.5 per block × 7,200 blocks a day (12 s each). Halves at each issuance milestone.
Minted TAO is the chain's TotalIssuance: new TAO, less TAO recycled back out of the supply. Staked TAO (TotalStake) is either on root (subnet 0) or in subnet pools: staking into a subnet swaps TAO into its pool, so TAO “in subnets” is the TAO those pools hold. The rest of the minted TAO sits in wallets and on exchanges.
New TAO per block halves when minted TAO crosses 10.5M, then 15.75M, 18.375M and so on: milestones of supply, not dates. The date assumes minted TAO keeps growing at its pace over the last 30 days, which is new TAO less what the chain recycled, so it moves when recycling does.
Bars: TAO into all subnet pools from buys minus TAO out from sells, per UTC day (the first and the latest day are partial). Line: TAO's closing price that day. Block emission also adds TAO to pools every day; that isn't a trade, so it isn't counted here. Per subnet: the flows card on the overview.
Every subnet token's price in TAO, added up (root excluded): 1.220 now. It rises when TAO is staked into subnets faster than it leaves and falls when holders sell back to TAO, so it tracks money moving between subnet tokens and TAO itself.
TotalStake ÷ TotalIssuance at each day's last snapshot. Of the staked TAO, 73.4% is on root today.
Buybacks are TAO a subnet spent buying its own token and burning it (AddStakeBurn), the provable floor on its outside revenue; see revenue. Other burns (AlphaBurned) and recycling (AlphaRecycled) remove subnet tokens without TAO coming in; we don't store a price for each, so they're valued at today's. Miner incentive the chain burns each epoch is shown per subnet as miner burn.
